About

The 2021 – 2022 DIES NMT training is to be set in the locus of Indonesian higher education. As of today, there are more than 4,000 higher education institutions across the country where 263 institutions are polytechnic. Out of 263 polytechnics, approximately 50% are private polytechnics, and 80% of these private polytechnics is accredited C or even not accredited based-on the national accreditation ranking system. Demography-wise, academically-strong polytechnics are still concentrated in a rather small region in Java and Sumatera. The need to narrow the quality gap across polytechnics, particularly the private ones, is real and pressing. Leaders, particularly those without formal training and experience in higher education management context, are struggling to improve the quality of polytechnics, making the transformation of the institution a long and steep process. The DIES training is designed to accelerate the capacity building of these leaders which, in turn, can speed up the process of improving the quality of the polytechnics in Indonesia, particularly those which reside outside Java and Sumatera.
